Spaghetti Bolognaise is a classic. This gorgeous and meaty bolognaise has an incredible depth of flavour that is garnished with delicate flakes of parmesan.

    Bring a pan of well salted water to the boil.

    Dice the brown onion.

  • 2.0 min

    Finely dice the celery.

  • 3.5 min

    Finely slice the garlic.

  • 4.5 min

    Finely grate the carrot.

  • 5.5 min

    Add the spaghetti into the now boiling water and cook until al dente. (around 10-11mins)

    Place a frying pan on high heat add the olive oil.

    Add the onions, celery and garlic to the pan, and cook until they begin to soften.

    Add the beef mince to the pan and season with salt and pepper.

    Continue to cook the beef until beginning to brown.

    Add the finely grated carrot to the beef and stir.

    Add the tomato paste and chopped tomatoes.

    Bring to the boil and then reduce the heat and continue to cook.

    Crumble in the beef stock cube and add the oregano and mix well.

    Continue to cook over a medium heat until the spaghetti is ready to be served.

    When the spaghetti is al dente remove from the heat and drain.

    Finely grate the parmesan.

    Serve the bolognaise atop a bed of spaghetti and sprinkle with the parmesan to finish.
